Sharing the coke bottle
I am drinking coke. You are not here to share the glass. We made this rule since your very early age that you will share the coke with amma. This rule we all followed till the end. Do you remember sharing the coke while coming back from cabin at night. You made sure to have at least two sips before we reach home. But your real interest was in opening the bottle using the opener at the refrigerator door at the shop. You were used to handle all the shopping from cabin while we walked at night. Keeping the money in your pocket in the house, selecting what to buy for you, taking out coke bottle from the refrigerator, opening it, paying for the shopping-you were usually on your own. Taking something like cycle or skates for the walk was your first choice. The first sip of coke was taken mostly before we leave the cabin. Always you made sure to take a sip before the roundabout after which we turn in our street and sometimes asking for another before entering the house.
You were not as fond of coke as are other children and this attitude made us continue our habit of sharing the coke. The only tough time was when we were at Bahadurabad chat shop. You wanted more share, Mustafa wanted a separate coke for you, this tradition I did not want to establish so I ended up in either regretting my decision or in asking you to share Mustafa’s bottle. It was calmer whenever you had a separate bottle but it happened very rare. May be we usually went to that chat shop in afternoon or after shopping so you were more thirsty.
How do you manage your thirst now Ali Farzan. You were not fond of water as if thirst was not an issue for you. Do you feel thirsty in Heaven, if so, what do you drink. Save half the glass for Amma.
